Best Solution for the Public Good - Hi-Tech Award Winners

When we landed the Student Volunteer Army as a client, we were ecstatic. They represented so many attributes that we love in a client: a connection with their brand, a meaty, complex project, and a cause we can get behind. On Friday we were absolutely thrilled to win 'Best Solution for the Public Good' at the 2021 NZ Hi Tech Awards for the web and mobile apps we built for them.

I've long admired the winners of awards but never really felt like they were for us. The shiny people up on stage beaming ear-to-ear seemed a long way from where we were. But we were so proud of the work we'd been doing with SVA and truly believed in in their cause, so thought - "what the hell!"

We went to the gala dinner thinking we were an outside chance, so it's hard to express the surprise and excitement of seeing something our team had poured blood, sweat and tears into get such recognition.

I have to say it's a heady experience and one that I wasn't prepared for. Standing at the podium alongside the charismatic Sam Johnson, having just been handed the trophy by the the also charismatic Prime Minister, in front of 1,300 of your peers - wow!

OMG I want to do it again!!!
